Berkeley Heights is located in Union County with a population of 13,183, per the 2010 U.S. Census.  According to Money magazine's "2012 Best Places To Live" rankings, Berkeley Heights ranked 6th out of nearly 2800 places in the United States with populations between 7,500 and 50,000.

Tucked into the Watchung Mountains and near the Great Swamp National Wildlife Refuge, it's the ideal location for those who value convenience to both the rural and urban lifestyle.  It's a short train ride to New York City, and also has easy access to major highways, which will appeal to most commuters.  It boasts 4 elementary schools, 1 middle, and one high school.

Until 1952, Berkeley Heights was known as New Providence Township.  Much of its history is compiled in the Littell-Lord Farmhouse Museum & Farmstead.  Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, it displays Victorian-Era relics and reproductions like antiques, children's toys, and other furnishings.

There are many parks and recreational opportunities for citizens of all ages.  The Berkeley Heights Township Council's web site describes themselves as "...diligently working to maintain the beauty and character of our community."
