Welcome to my Website

I was born in New Jersey and have lived here all my life, so I know the territory.  The wonderful town of Summit beckoned when my boys were school age and I moved my family here to take advantage of its welcoming small town flavor and stayed for almost 30 years.   One lifetime  is not long enough to explore and appreciate the many advantages on my doorstep, from the solitude of the Great Swamp, to the uproar of the boardwalk "down the shore";  the serendipities in the towns on the delaware Canal; the exciting performances at our many musical and theatrical venues ........ but don't get me started.  If we meet, you'll hear it all.  And I hope we do.  I'm a great listener.  If you're buying a home, I'll hear exactly what you're looking for and try my best to lead you to it.  If you're selling your most valuable  asset -- your home -- I'll be listening for what you think is important.      

Personal Background

I've always lived in New Jersey with time out for college in Florida;  and in New York City while single and working at Macy's and Bloomingdale's.  After marrying, I was back in New Jersey raising a family and commuting to  "the City".   We moved to Summit in 1976 and I went on with my professional life which involved many trips to Europe and the Far East.  Back on the home front I always had projects going -- painting, wallpapering, gardening, landscaping and ferrying carloads of boys from activity to activity.  Friends and I attended classes in decorative painting at the New School and Parsons and spent many hours painting our houses.  ( I was bitten by the bug at age 14 when I painted my bedroom pink along with every piece of furniture.)  My grandmother was a gardener and I inherited her green thumb.  My first solo attempts were with the seed packets we sold in grammar school that I planted in a little raised garden in the back yard.  When we were about nine or ten my best friend and I were allowed to help out in a flower shop.  We were paid in corsages for our Moms.  I try to visit as many botanical gardens and flower shows as I can get to, and garden as much as I can at home (and also at our office here on Springfield Avenue)> 

Professional Background

My professional career began as a member of Macy's Executive Training Squad and mushroomed throughout decades of opportunities in all the aspects of marketing fashion and home furnishings:  wholesale, retail, design, production, advertising, publicity.  My work led me to many countries and many parts of this country.  Many years of designing for and selling to key accounts proved the lessons Macy's taught:  "The customer is always right", and, "honesty is the best policy".  My work was almost always fun and very glamorous.  I loved the colors, the textures, the silhouettes of the products and the places and the people.  A great basis for the product of real estate:  the homes people own or will soon live in.
