Clark Real Estate Listings and Information

Clark Township is a beautiful suburban community located in the southern portion of scenic Union County. Once the hunting and fishing grounds for the Lenni Lenape Indians, it is now a thriving suburban community.

During the American Revolution, the historic Battle of the Ash Swamp was fought here on June 26, 1777. At the height of the civil war, local farmers declared their independence and named the new community in honor of Abraham Clark, a signer of the Declaration of Independence.

Clarks first farm and homestead is one of the few examples of 17th century architecture remaining in the United States. Listed on the New Jersey and National Registers of Historic Places, the restored home known as the Dr. Wm. Robinson House is notable for its chamfered and carved summer beam, rubble stone foundation and massive fireplace foundation in the cellar, steeply pitched roof, crenellated chimney, diamond-paneled casement windows and broad overhanging corner pendants.

New Jersey Monthly Magazine, in its annual listing of the “Best Places to Live in New Jersey,” rated Clark #24 out of 566 municipalities in New Jersey. In addition, Business Week ranked Clark #10 on the top 10 List of the “Best Affordable Suburbs in America.”

The Clark Public Schools and Township enjoy a model program of shared services.
