Millington is an unincorporated area within Long Hill Township in Morris County, New Jersey.  The area is served as United States Postal Service ZIP Code 07946.  As of the United States Census of 2000, the population for ZIP Code Tabulation Area 07946 was 3,000.

It borders the southern side of the Great Swamp National Wildlife Refuge with access to Lord Stirling Park. The Passaic River runs through it. The Raptor Trust, a famous bird rehabilitation and education center within the Great Swamp is also inside the town limits.

NJ Transit has train stops on the Gladstone Branch at the Millington, Stirling, and Gillette Stations to connect east arriving in Newark Broad Street Station in about thirty minutes.

Millington Station was built in 1901, after the West Line Railroad was extended from Summit to Bernardsville during the years 1870-71.  It was entered into the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.

Millington Savings Bank started as Millington Building and Loan in 1911 in the town and his grown to other branches in the area.

The Raptor Trust is a wild bird rehabilitation center located in Millington, New Jersey, United States and surrounded by the Great Swamp National Wildlife Refuge.

Long Hill Township is a township in Morris County, New Jersey; as of the 2000 United States Census, the township population was 8,777 with a total area of 12.1 square miles, all of it land.

The township consists of four communities: the enclaves of Gillette, Millington, and Stirling, and the hamlet of Meyersville.

Long Hill Township was incorporated as Passaic Township in 1866. In 1922, part of what was then Passaic Township was taken to form Harding Township.  In 1992 the voters elected to change the name of the municipality to Long Hill Township, a change largely driven by the desire to avoid confusion with the City of Passaic, some 22 miles away.

Long Hill Township is located in the most southern part of Morris County.  It is bounded by the Passaic River on the south and west and by the Great Swamp National Wildlife Refuge on the north.  It borders both Union and Somerset counties.

The Long Hill Township School System serves public school students in Pre-K through eighth grade. Schools in the district are Gillette School (grades PreK-1), Millington School (grades 2-5) and Central Middle School (grades 6-8).

Long Hill Township's high school students in public school attend Watchung Hills Regional High School in Warren Township.  Students from Long Hill Township and from the neighboring communities of Green Brook Township, Warren Township, and Watchung (in Somerset County) attend the school.

St. Vincent de Paul School is a Catholic school operated under the auspices of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Paterson.
