Professional Background

My professional background is to say the least, diverse. Over the last twenty five years I have worked at a local YMCA and held various positions within corporate America. Fifteen of those years were spent in financial services in various positions, but  they were all based in either a direct customer service role or in a superviory capacity within a service oriented department.

The last ten years plus years, I have been a licensed NJ real estate agent and have brought my years of experience with me. My top notch quality customer service skills affords me the ability to assist my real estate clients each step of the way during their transaction, wether they be a buyer, seller, renter or a landlord. Effective customer service is about active listening, getting to really know the client as well as good instincts. Helping clients make their dream of home ownership become a reality is not something to be taken lightly.

I have mentored new real estate agents and always stress the importance of ethics and establishing a positive reputation. During the training process I have impressed upon the new agents that you only get one chance to make a first impression!! Real estate is a business built on referrals so each client should be treated with respect, courtesy and a sense of priorty! This is truy a "people" business in every aspect and then some! Being with a reputable and progressive company such as Berkshire Hathaway Home Services provides the platform, support and encouragement for any hard working agent such as myself to be successful in every possible way.

Professional Interests

Since becoming a Realtor in 2004 I have been a member of the Middlesex County Association of Realtors and the New Jersey Association of Realtors. I have been involved with various volunteer work within the community including coat drives, food collections, toy drives and feeding the hungry at a local Salvation Army location.

Personal Background

Having spent pretty much my entire life in the Metuchen area somewhat qualifies me as a "neighborhood specialist"! I grew up the youngest of six kids in the Oakland Park section of Metuchen (the "Brainy Boro")!  My family's home was on Upland Avenue but our neighborhood had numerous other large families as well. With that being said, there was always something going on, such as a football game in the street, ice skating at the Oakland Avenue Tennis Courts (YES..ice skating..lol), going to the Forum Theatre to see a movie, attending the Plays in the Park at the Ampitheater in Roosevelt Park, swimming at the Metuchen Municipal Pool with friends, catching lightning bugs in a jar or anxiously awaiting the arrival of Spencer, the Good Humor guy on those hot summer nights!!

I am lucky to still be good friends with some of the "kids" I grew up with in the Oakland Park neighborhood. Now with social media such as Facebook, it has provided a wonderful venue to keep in touch and reacqaunt with even more childhood friends from the old neighborhood!! Hours of banter has been spent talking about our happy memories and catching up with  all of the events, happenings, births, weddings, etc. in everyone's lives. I have seen a saying that says "you never forget the kids you grew up with". That is a very true statement. It makes you appreciate how those years and those people helped to shape the person you are today; they have been woven into the the fabric of our lives.

The Garden State offers so much and having lived a couple other places within NJ has made me even appreciate more what a great town Metuchen is. The same can be said for central New Jersey in general. We are fortunate enough to have NJ Transit (North East Corridor line) right here in our backyard when we want to get to New York City/ Philadephia/Washington DC or the Garden State Parkway to get "down the shore". This makes exploring so convenient and allows residents to expand their horizons and experiences beyond the boundries of NJ. There is something for everyone...between Metuchen's downtown shops and restaurants, local parks, recreation and also New Brunswick's theatres, culture and night time entertainment. Lets not forget the NYC night life and theatre as well as the sun, sand and casinos in Atlantic City!

When ever possible, I also love to get on an airplane and really travel. This is a beautiful country we live in and its great to meet all different kinds of people in all different parts of the United States. My domestic travel includes California, Washington State, Nevada, Massachusets, Kansas, Missouri, Texas, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Delaware, Oregon, Virginia, Washington, DC, etc. Some of my favorite locations are Boston, Cape Cod, San Diego and Key West.

International travel is also a passion of mine and my favorite place is Australia (so far, I have been there three times)!! In my experience, I have found that the "Aussies" truly enjoy life and are warm, friendly and fun people to be around! To say the least they are about much more than "throwing another shrimp on the barbie" or a cold Fosters...LOL! The Austalian coast line is some of the most beautiful beaches I have seen, including the famous Bondi Beach!  Other international travel includes Paris, London, Amsterdam, etc. There are many more places I would like to travel in the future including Greece, Bali, Ireland and Greenland, etc.

Spending time off with family and close friends is extrememly important to me as well. Most of my family is now living in Florida so I usually get there for a visit at least once a year (more whenever time permits..lol)! Having some down time with family & friends to relax is crucial and makes me appreciate the valuable gift of time.

Being a "people person" made being a real estate agent a very natural fit. I genuinely love meeting new people from all different places. I especially look forward to  learning about them and their different cultures, customs and lifestyles.

Ocassionally, I meet new people or even run into old acquaintenances who are suprised that I still live in the town where I grew up. To that, I simply reply "why live any where else...everything as well as great people are right here....I love living here"!!

(In all honesty, the only other place I would rather be living is on the beach in Australia!!)
